Volcanic Plains Speckle Park

Volcanic Plains Speckle Park is located in beautiful South West Victoria, close to tourist attractions such as the Great Ocean Road and Warrnambool. The region is known for its unique volcanic landscape, with Mt Noorat and Mt Elephant within close proximity. Agriculture is diverse with dairy, beef, sheep and cropping contributing significantly to the local economy. Penny Hicks

Growing up in Noorat, I have always had an interest in agriculture and working with animals. I followed this passion, completing a Bachelor of Science (Animal Science and Management) and later a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Melbourne University. Currently as a mixed practice Veterinarian, I have a particular interest in the beef and dairy industries and in the Speckle Park breed. I was first attracted to the breed for their great muscling ability and unique colour patterns. As a breeder, I have been impressed by their growth, temperament and carcass quality.
